 Unwind

Join us for this deeply nourishing class. Untangle tensions in body and mind in this gentle class. With the breath and caring non-judgemental presence as our anchor, we will safely explore our bodies full range of movement and strength through softly guided mindful movement. Towards the last half of the class we will savour stillness and the peace and contentment that arises in longer held shapes that target joints and deeper tissues. We close our time together with a guided meditation.

Yoga Nidra

Cultivate and nourish calmness within the body, mind and spirit through the ancient self-care practice of Yoga Nidra. This offering will help us to find balance and ease anxiousness as we focus awareness on the presence of our Be-ing. In uncertain times we come together into supportive space and for the moment, we leave the worries of the world behind - turning our attention inward and strengthening peace from within. No experience necessary - everyone welcome

Unwind & Restore 

This registered series focuses on unwinding the systems of the body ,mind ,spirit connection and restoring our innate sense of wholeness. Those systems include the nervous (parasympathetic)cardiovascular (blood and heart) respiratory (breath and lungs),lymphatic ,etheric (glandular and chakras), meridians ( organs) etc. Each week we will focus on unwinding and restoring a particular system as well as integrating and balancing all the systems Enjoy feeling wholly connected in your yoga and life!

Fluid Flow

An invigorating, dynamic class to increase strength and mobility. This class links breath with movement and will empower mind body and spirit. You will develop strength, stamina and flexibility leading you to empowerment. Modifications and variations for postures will be given, allowing each student to experience the full benefits of each posture. Previous yoga experience recommended.

Gentle Flow

Gentle Flow is a slower paced Yoga practice that focuses on moving with the breath.  Movement is inspired by traditional sun salutations, and also explores creative, playful and intuitive sequencing.  Breath always guides the meditative movements, and breath informs our sense of self in the present moment.  In this class you will develop loving awareness, strengthen the body/mind connection, release stress, and energize without feeling overwhelmed.   Everyone welcomed

Core Flow

In this energetic class we will focus on developing strength and stability of the core muscles blended with the added element of dynamic movement. This class is a low impact energizing full body and mind workout!

Yoga Foundations

An introduction to the principles of the eight limbs of yoga. 10 class series. Each movement-based class will provide an opportunity for participants to find stability in traditional yoga poses, enabling them to stretch and release tension held in the tissues. Throughout the series, there will be opportunities to deepen our sangha (community) through conversation. This series is open to all ages, experience levels, bodies and minds. To the best of our ability, options will be provided. Additional time with the guide is available. 

Friday Unwind

This class will begin with some gentle movement to awaken and build awareness, allowing the participant to move in a way that honours their body. ( Modifications and challenges will be offered. ) Movement will be balanced out with supported postures to complete the practice. 

Designed to restore the nervous system and release deeply held tensions from the body & mind. This class will  leave you grounded and refreshed, ready to receive your weekend.  

Fitness for the Heart

Join Tish from your home or in-studio for 50 Minutes of fun, friendship and fitness or maybe it’s cardio, community and conversation! Classes are unique each time but expect some resistance work with either dumbbells (bring your own if you have them), tubing or body weight. We will also throw in some cardio, core, balance work, stretching and laughs. This class can be modified to fit a variety of ages, fitness levels and to work around injuries. Tish is looking forward to helping you get your bod moving! Remember to listen to your body, and let Tish know of any physical limitations.

Yoga for Insomnia and Anxiety. Virtual

Join Stefani from the comfort of your home for this 10 class series. Experience a gentle restorative practice that invites DEEP REST to your body and mind. Weaving in elements of mindfulness meditation, somatic processing and energy work (Ayurvedic Marma Therapy and Meridian inspired acupressure) the heart of these practices is to support you in calming your nervous system, inviting more ease in your body and accessing improved sleep.) This class is also available for single class drop-in though attending the series is recommended.

Embodiment Yoga™ Virtual

Embodiment Yoga™ is a fluid practice (gentle vinyasa) that invites flow state - a feeling of fully inhabiting the body with enjoyment in this present moment. Through mindful movement, listening, feeling and breath, you are invited to drop into your body and reset to a feeling of connection and joy within yourSelf. This class is shared on-line, recommended to attend as a 10 class registered series but may be attending by drop-in.

Crystal Meditation

WHY ? Go deep, high, and wide in your self guided meditation and yoga practice supported by live crystalline sound waves that are generated by 16 alchemy singing bowls.

WHAT? This 60 min. gifts an opportunity for a self guided meditation practice while seated, laying down or moving (yoga /tai chi/qi gong /organic) while Colin Hillstrom curates cosmic sound waves that act as portals to inter-dimensional states of consciousness and awareness.

HOW? Arrive in Silence. Meditate / Practice in Silence Leave in Silence Rejoice


 

Meet Your Guides

 

Amarin

My life practice is to strive to make my sharings as Nature therapy guide, Yoga & Meditation teacher, Mother, Lover and friend be my beautiful continuance.

Amarin has studied Yoga/Mindfulness Meditation and related life practices in Canada and around the world. She has taught yoga and meditation for over 23 years and with her daughter Cailen, co-created The Heart of Bragg Creek, and Experience Journeys, an environmental not-for-profit.  She works, lives and plays within the immense beauty of the Rocky Mountain foothills at Bragg Creek, Alberta Canada.

Amarin is a graduate of Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach’s two year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training, is a certified Forest and Nature Therapy Guide with the ANFT and is presently enrolled in Mark Coleman’s ‘Awake in the Wild’ Teacher training.

 

Amber

As a forever student I have been constantly drawn to explore my love of health and wellness. Through my own personal challenges’ I have learned the importance of caring for oneself in order to find healing. The huge benefits yoga has brought to my own life as well the lives of others reveal the infinite impact this practice can have on our whole being and it gets me so excited to share it with others.

My enthusiasm for sharing yoga comes from a place of deep gratitude for the gifts yoga has brought into my life.

I am a lifelong learner and find inspiration for yoga wherever I am. I am blessed to be continually inspired by my yoga mentors, Don & Amba Stapleton of the Nosara Yoga Institute and Amarin Dawn of Yoga Within the Heart.

I treasure time spent in nature. Sharing the beauty of Gaia with family and community stokes my inner fire. I take the time to thank our Earth Mother and sing a little song of gratitude to Her!

Susan

 Susan is a certified Hatha , Kundalini and Restorative Yoga Teacher  and a Registered Massage Therapist. Susan has operated the Hilltop Wellness Center for 27 years in Bragg Creek which offers various forms of Bodywork, Body focused counselling ,yoga classes, sessions for animals and Healing ceremonies for individuals, groups and  Mother Earth.(website : hilltopwellness.ca).

Stefani

Specializing in EMBODIMENT, the concept of coming home to one's body with ease and confidence; Stefani is a Trauma Informed Somatic Therapist, Yoga Therapist and RMT based in Calgary, AB, Canada. The creator of Embodiment Yoga™ and Embodiment Yoga Therapy™, Stefani works alongside practitioners in the mental health field to support relief from: trauma, anxiety, stress and depression.

Drena

For Drena, teaching is a way of sharing this light and love and connecting to many amazing humans. 

It is Drena’s intention to make you feel good in your body and bring awareness to that gift that lies within each of us. Inspiring others to truly live life, not just exist within it.

200-hour YTT with Meghan Currie in Nicaragua.  Drena is also trained in yin yoga, mantra and mythology, restorative yoga, yoga Nidra, seniors and chair, and myofascial release ( working to complete 500 HR YTT)   

 

Colin

Colin Hillstrom has been passionate about sound and music all of his life. A certified sound healer since 1995 Colin considers himself an Instrument for Love, Peace & Light when he curates cosmic sound waves with his 16 Crystal Tones alchemy singing bowls. Colin has recorded a meditation CD with bowls and cello and has written several books on healing relationships. He certifies yoga teachers and holistic healers in his method of facilitating consciousness and healing with quartz crystal singing bowls. He resides in the hamlet of Bragg Creek, AB.

Megan

Megan resides in Redwood Meadows and offers intuitive guidance through consciousness. She infuses the principles of Yoga Nidra with simple breath-work techniques and guides you into the space of the heart to experience Sankalpa. She also offers other healing modalities along the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra and Meditation and is currently completing her Masters in Counselling Psychology.

Katherine

Yoga has drawn me back day after day, and week after week for many years. The desire to connect, understand and grow has fueled my passion for yoga. Now as a guide I am excited to share movement, philosophy and a spiritual journey with others.

I grew up in Banff and have lived in Bragg Creek for over twenty years. The peace and beauty that surrounds us is a constant reminder that we are all connected.

Henri

Henri’s diverse and mosaic life path was programmed very early on. Born in Jakarta Indonesia he spent the next 9 years living in Holland and Argentina embracing different languages and cultures before landing in Canada which was to be his forever home, at age 10. Exploring many different career paths from social worker to caterer to scuba instructor his hobbies and diversions of music and yoga were ever present. In the same way that cream rises to the top, our life passions have a way of becoming defining focal points which reveal our true calling. Henri has been a professional yoga instructor for 20+ years and music has been a constant in his life since his early teens. He lives in Canmore, AB with his wife Michelle and where he teaches yoga and plays music.
